Le Corbusier's concrete work was a source of inspiration for a polarized architectural movement called Brutalism. (1950s–1970s)
Brutalism is not only an architectural style; but a philosophical approach to architectural design, striving to create simplicity, honesty, and functionality.
Le Corbusier popularises the movement by coining the term "béton brut"
A French term that translates in English to “raw concrete”. The term is used to describe concrete that's left unfinished after being cast, displaying the patterns and seams imprinted on it. Béton brut is not a material, but rather an architectural expression of concrete.
The style showcases exposed, unpainted concrete, angular geometric shapes, and a monochromatic palette.
Our homage to Le Corbusier's béton brut.
